Christmas Time!

We started decorating for Christmas the weekend before Thanksgiving. We couldn't help ourselves and we wanted to be able to just relax on Thanksgiving weekend. So, I came home one Saturday morning after a meeting to find Jerrod and Kennedi outside starting to put the lights up. Kennedi was so excited about everything. We spent the rest of the day, doing a little bit of shopping and decorating! I took tons of photos. Kaden was sleeping while we decorated the tree. I felt bad at first, but we soon realized that it was okay, because he probably would have been taking things down as we were trying to put things up. He has gotten into the tree a few times, but overall leaves it alone. Kennedi is always right there watching him, and she is very quick to let us know when he is touching anything on the tree!

This is our family ornament for the year. Every year we get an ornament that symbolizes that year for us. This year, it was Disney World! We were able to visit all four parks this summer while we were in Orlando.

When she would place an ornament on the tree, she would get excited about how beautiful it looked.

I know this picture isn't the greatest, but I was trying to capture the tree in her eye. If you look close, you can see it.


Right when we were done, our cat found a new place to lie down.
We have now placed all of our presents under the tree, so that place got taken from her pretty quickly. She now enjoys cozying up by the fire when it is on.

Ooh I just love decorating for Christmas :) Your tree is beautiful! And I think your kitty has the right idea. It looks cozy!

Honey, I loved these pictures, especially the one of Kennedi looking at her refection in the ornament.

I think it's funny that Kitty wanted a place under the tree when it was finished. Cheeto did the same thing. She loves to be under there but she too is losing her place as more presents are placed under there.

A VERY Significant Day

I am behind on some blogging, but I realized that I won't be able to get all of that done right now before I post this. And, I really want to post this today. Some people get the opportunity to have something so significant in their life happen that changes them forever. I am one of those people. Today is a very special day for me. My Story--10 Years

I have many titles, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, etc.  I cherish all of those titles, and try to be the best that I can be in each of those areas.  But, a title that I hold very dear to my heart is the title of "Birthmother".  Almost three years ago, I came "out" to the world that I was a Birthmother.  Close friends and family knew, but I wasn't ready to be so open about it yet.  I finally felt I was ready, and wrote my story HERE .  Please feel free to read it.  It is a long one, but it is the whole story.
