Big Girl Bed

Image
We finally got Kennedi's "big girl bed." We figured that it was time to transition her so that she wouldn't be too upset when her new little brother takes over the crib. We tried to make it a big deal so that she would be excited about it. This is Kennedi and Daddy putting the bed together. Kennedi LOVED helping out. She would grab screws and try to fit them into whatever hole she could find. It's all done!!! Kennedi sitting on her bed for the first time. She was so excited when we were done that she could hardly sit still while I was putting her jammies on. We thought..."Hey, this is going to be GREAT!! She is going to do so well on her first night!!" As you can see, it didn't go as well as we hoped it would. And, so this is where she ended up. In our bed. That smile says a thousand words, some of which are, "haha, I got my way. I am in bed with Mom and Dad!" So far, she has done okay with the whole change. We still have to stay right by h...

Father's Day

Image
We had a great Father's Day. Jerrod said it felt like Christmas in June for him. He has been working so hard with Boeing and APX that I felt like he deserved a little bit of a reward. Jerrod is such an amazing Father. I am so thankful to have him as my husband and father of our children. He adores Kennedi and she adores her Daddy. We had been talking for a long time about getting a grill and after months of looking and trying to decide exactly what we wanted we still hadn't found one. (If you know us, you know that this happens quite often) Jerrod kept hinting to me that he just wanted me to get one for Fathers Day. I was nervous to make that big of a decision all by myself, but decided that I just had to do it. So, Saturday while Jerrod was working, Kennedi and I went shopping. We had looked everywhere in the months previous and thought that there was one at Sears that we liked. So, I went straight to Sears, saw the "one" and told the lady that we would take it. It w...

Kennedi's First "Haircut"

Image
Kennedi's hair has been driving me crazy lately. I think that it is because her bangs have been so long and she has had crazy long pieces that don't seem to belong anywhere. Whenever I have tried to cut her hair she has freaked out and screams like I was cutting off a limb. It was impossible to get her to stay still for me. I thought that maybe she would sit still for someone else. So, my good friend, Katie came over the other day and we decided to give it a try. With a little help from Little Einsteins, Kennedi sat perfectly still until Katie was done. It was amazing. There wasn't a huge change in her hair, but it was amazing how just a little bit of a trim makes her hair fall so much better!! Thanks Katie!!! Look at that long hair!!! It is so curly that I never realize just how long it is! She was even perfect enough to give mommy some smiles!! All done! How pretty!

Four Down...Only Three more to go Mom!!

On Thursday, June 5th, my sister Kristen graduated. It was a crazy thing to watch and think that 7 years ago, I graduated from high school. I always felt "older" than what I think of Kristen as being. Maybe it is because she is my "little sister". It was a nice outdoor ceremony. The weather didn't seem like it was wanting to cooperate at first, but it came around and it turned out to be very nice. Not too hot and not too cold. Here are a few pictures of her grad night. Grandpa trying to keep Kennedi content during the ceremony. Laurel and Kris Me and Kris Kristen and Devin (Lifelong friends) Me and my good friend from high school, Jessica. We are both preggers!! MY THOUGHTS ON THE PAST SEVEN YEARS Looking at this last picture has made me realize how much my life really has changed in the past 7 years. As a Senior in high school, your life is a very selfish life. I thought that I knew everything and that I had things figured out. I worried too much...

Wait a minute....I thought June was supposed to be warm!!!

Needless to say this "summer" has been a bit colder than usual. We spent a couple of days in Ellensburg for Kristen's graduation expecting it to be nicer weather than it had been on the West Side. Well, I don't know what we were thinking. You can't go to a baseball game in Ellensburg without the wind blowing like crazy and bundling up like it is the middle of January. So, here is Kennedi at a baseball game all bundled up in June. They made for some cute pictures!

Big News in the Wyatt Family!!!

Well, the day has finally come. After waiting 22 years, my brother, Brent is witnessing his dream starting to come to life. On Friday, June 6, Brent received a call from the Detroit Tigers to let him know that he had been drafted. We had all been around the computer, watching the MLB draft, and waiting to see his name come up on the screen. Well, my parent's computer has a slight delay, so my brother first got a text from one of his buddys congratulating him. We were all kind of confused because we hadn't seen or heard anything yet, so we kept "refreshing" the page and on the 3rd refresh, there it was..."Detroit Tigers....Brent Wyatt....Round 26...793rd pick of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft." We all started screaming and yelling and we ran outside to tell Brent that he was now a Tiger. He had been outside on the phone with his buddy talking about it. Shortly after, he got a phone call from the Tigers letting him officially know that he was their pick....
