This Makes Me Happy

Image
Kaden doesn't really like to be held by other people when Mommy or Daddy are around. But, he sure loves his Grandpa . And I love that. It really does make me happy. I think I will cherish this photo forever.

Sights of a Brower Christmas

Image
This was one of my favorite Christmas' so far. It was the first time we did our own little family thing Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. We loved being able to start our own family traditions. We made a yummy dinner and enjoyed being together. As we went to sleep Christmas Eve night, Jerrod said how not too long ago, he was a little boy anticipating Christmas morning, not being able to sleep. Now, he is a Daddy, anticipating Christmas morning because he couldn't wait to watch his kids. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep that night. We took a lot of photos...of course. We don't have many of the kids opening gifts because we were video taping instead. But, here is what our Christmas looked like in the year 2009. Our Kitty. She wasn't too thrilled about the hat. Making Christmas cookies! Christmas Eve We spent Christmas Eve eating yummy food and spending time together. We started a new tradition of "Skyping" Jerrod's family who ...

Officially "Old"

Today my siblings managed to make me officially feel old. For Christmas, they got Singstar Country which is a karoke game for the Playstation. To make a long story short, they got the wrong microphones, so while we were shopping today, we saw a package deal of 2 microphones, a converter and the "Singstar '90s" game. Naturally, becuase I grew up in the 90's, I thought it would be so much fun. Seeing titles like "Opposites Attract", "Step by Step", "Motownphilly", and "Ice Ice Baby" got me SO EXCITED. I couldn't wait until I could sing my heart out to songs that I grew up with. I mean, these were songs that I made up dances to and performed them for people. It was really the only time in my life where I really thought that I could sing. (Yeah, we all really know the truth.) When we got home, they broke open the Country one, where they knew almost every word to every song. I will admit, that I am not completely familiar with ...

My Thing

I LOVE being able to accomplish goals or actually do something that I set out to do. Probably about 7 or so years ago, I started doing Tae-Bo videos at home/college. I loved the workout. Then, I found out that they offered a TurboKick workout class three times a week at school. I started going, and quickly fell in love with it. There I was, every time, right up in that front row, behind the instructor, doing my very best. I loved every minute of it. I had never had so much fun working out. I always thought to myself, "I would love to be get certified to be an instructor someday". When Jerrod and I moved to the Seattle area, I looked up days that they were certifying, but knew that we were going to start having kids soon, so I just put it off. After having Kennedi, I continued to do my "Turbo Jam" DVD's. And then, a little over a year ago, we joined our local YMCA. I started going to their Kickboxing class and REALLY LOVED IT. It is a shadow kickboxi...

Hair

Image
Lately I have been having so much fun doing Kennedi's hair. Now that it is longer and I don't have her bangs to mess with, I find myself thinking of what fun new ways I can style her hair. I will take more pictures of other cute styles that I have come up with. The best part about all of this, is that she stays so still while I am doing it. I guess that is what happens when I have been putting things in her hair from day one!

One of Those Things

Image
I don't know why our child cannot keep his food out of his hair. It doesn't seem to matter what I make, he makes a hat out of his plate or shampoo out of his food. It drives me crazy because this usually happens after a bath has already taken place. I guess it is just one of those things.

Thanksgiving '09

Image
I guess I should blog about Thanksgiving before Christmas happens. This year we were able to spend Thanksgiving with all of my family. It is always so much fun to be at home with all of my siblings. The fun and laughter never stops , and I am mostly the brunt of everyone's jokes. I guess that is what I get for being the oldest. I just think of it as a form of flattery! Laurel, Kristen, Jerrod and I decided to wake up early Thanksgiving morning to run a 5k in Mattawa, WA. My cousin puts on the run to benefit feeding the hungry. We wanted to show our support. I was really proud of all of us. Although I have been running for over a year now, my sister, Kristen, beat me. I was proud of her. I think she beat me by a solid 2 minutes! She is in great shape. But really, I was proud of her. I know that some of you are probably thinking that I hated the fact that she beat me, but I really am not. I thought that I was a pretty good runner, but she was awesome! Good job, Sis! I was also VERY...

Christmas Time!

Image
We started decorating for Christmas the weekend before Thanksgiving. We couldn't help ourselves and we wanted to be able to just relax on Thanksgiving weekend. So, I came home one Saturday morning after a meeting to find Jerrod and Kennedi outside starting to put the lights up. Kennedi was so excited about everything. We spent the rest of the day, doing a little bit of shopping and decorating! I took tons of photos. Kaden was sleeping while we decorated the tree. I felt bad at first, but we soon realized that it was okay, because he probably would have been taking things down as we were trying to put things up. He has gotten into the tree a few times, but overall leaves it alone. Kennedi is always right there watching him, and she is very quick to let us know when he is touching anything on the tree! Looking at her reflection in the ornament. This is our family ornament for the year. Every year we get an ornament that symbolizes that year for us. This year, it was Disney...
