Our Miracle

Image
There are moments in life that some people get to experience.  Moments that change your life forever.  I have had a few of those moments in my young 27 (almost 28) years.  I learned rather quickly at age 18 that I am not invincible.  I have really tried to remember that through the years.  I have done well with remembering that with most things in my life, but for some reason I still felt that I was invincible to death until I was OLD.  Not "oh I am almost 30 OLD" but I mean "really, really lots of grandkids and great-grandkids OLD."  That is how I used to feel...that is, until we LIVED our miracle.  It truly was a miracle and I will never deny that fact.  Here is the story of our miracle...... We spent Thanksgiving weekend with my family in Ellensburg just like any other Thanksgiving.  We ate, played games, and just enjoyed being together as a family.  Saturday night I went on what I like to call a little "date" with my Dad. ...

Kohen Mitchell Brower

On Thursday, November 4th, 2010, at 4:59 pm, Kohen Mitchell Brower joined our family.  He weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long.  When he was finally ready to come out, he was here within minutes.  It was a very long laboring process, but delivery was literally over in one contraction and about 3 pushes.  It was crazy.  But, to remember everything, here is the story.... Kennedi's Birthday Party and Induction Night!

Image
Kennedi's Birthday was the same night that I was scheduled to go in to be induced.  We wanted to make sure that they didn't have the same birthday, so we waited until late Wednesday night to go in.  All day I had anxiety about going in.  I kept having horrible thoughts that they wouldn't let me go in and it would still be days before we had the baby.  So, I tried to keep myself busy that day by making Kennedi's Birthday Belle cake.  I really enjoy making special cakes for my kids on their birthdays...even if it is when I am in pain and just happens to be on the same day that I would be going into labor!   We started out the birthday celebrations at Red Robin with my Mom and Jaela.  Kennedi had a free birthday meal.  I tried to enjoy myself, but I was freaking out about going in still.  They called me about an hour before I thought that they would to come in and so I freaked out a little bit more because we were still at the restaurant. ...
