Caught Red Blue Green Yellow Orange and Brown Handed

I still have Christmas photos to post, but I wanted to write this one down so that I could remember. Tonight I have been unpacking from our Christmas in Ellensburg and I found a thing of M&M's in Kennedi's stocking. I decided to have a few and gave Kennedi a few. She absolutely loves them, but she is so messy when she eats them. She had just gotten out of the bath, so I didn't want her to get too dirty, so I gave her a few and told her that that was all for tonight. Well, as I was picking up stuff, I dropped a few on the floor in the hall and had forgotten to pick them up. While I was in our room cleaning up, I could hear Kennedi in the hall. After a little while, I decided to see what she was doing and as I turned out of our room, there she was with melted M&M's all over her face and hands. She was startled when she saw me and quickly put her hand over her mouth, spit the M&M's into her hand and tried giving them to me. I could do nothing but smile and ...

Christmas Rush Fun Run 2008

Registration Fee:  $20.00 New running shorts and shirt: $22.88 Finishing my 1st 10K without walking: PRICELESS!!!!! That's right!!  On Saturday, December 13th, 2008 I accomplished my goal that I made months ago to run a 10K.  That is 6.21 miles.  My friend Katie and I decided to do this to celebrate her 30th birthday and to help us get back in shape after having our babies. We even talked a few other girls into doing it with us!  Over the past 8 weeks, I have been amazed at what my body could do.  I ran 3 miles on Mondays, 2 miles on Wednesdays and a long run on Saturdays that worked up to 5 miles.  Occasionally I would miss a run, but for the most part, I did well staying on top of my training schedule.  It is crazy to me to think that now running 3 miles is just part of a routine work out for me.  Running the 10K was an amazing feeling.  I can't even explain it.  I never would have thought that it would be something that I would enjoy, but I really loved it.  It was definitel...

Katie's Kickin' Karb Party 2008

Image
On Friday we had a birthday party for one of my best friends, Katie.  It was the night before our big race, so we decided to have a carb party to help us get ready for it!  We know that the carbs really don't help us out a whole lot when we are just running 6.2 miles, but it was a good excuse to get together, eat, and celebrate Katie's 30th!   Me, Shelbi Owen, Katie Tyler, Natalie Metler, Lindsey Jergensen, and Kristin Morgan ROCKIN' OUT TO GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR!! Superstar Singer! Riley saying "ROCK ON!!" Yay for Katie!!  Thirty, Flirty (with her husband, of course!), and Thriving!!  Katie is one of the most amazing women I know!!  I love her to death and am so thankful to have her in my life.  I am excited for her to enjoy her 30's.  I hear they are the greatest years of your life!   Katie, Have so much fun!  I love you and hope that you had a great birthday weekend!!

Future Winners of Food Network Gingerbread House Challenge

Last week, Kennedi and Riley made gingerbread houses.  It was a lot of fun letting the girls decorate their houses.  It was a big mess, but ultimately worth it to watch them have so much fun and be so proud of what they made.  We helped build and put frosting on, but they placed the candy ever so carefully.  It was funny to watch two year olds be very particular about how things were done.  Kennedi placed M&Ms on very carefully and had to have the "M" showing.  I even tried to trick her a couple of times and placed the M&M on backwards and she would say, "Uh-Oh!" and turn it around the right way.  I think they mostly enjoyed eating the candy.   Eating the decorations is the best part!! The proud girls!! (I think the Mommy's were even more proud!)

Talented Friends

I am so blessed in my life to have talented friends.  I know that the Lord truly gives us talents so that we can bless the lives of others.   As you can see, I have a new background!  I know that this may not be that big of a deal to some people, but I really love my friend Megan who did it for me!  I really struggle in the world of graphic design, or any type of design for that matter, and she just put this together in a short amount of time!  I really love it Megan...thank you!  I think that you should go into business and just make peoples backgrounds for them!  Other people make money doing it...why not you??   (Maybe I shouldn't have said that because after Christmas is all over, I am going to need you to make me another one!  :)  )   So, everyone, I hope you enjoy my new background.  I love it.   (It is funny what can make me happy...this does.)

Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

Image
We spent Thanksgiving in Oklahoma this year. It was a lot of fun to spend some time with family and friends. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. He has taken me on more adventures and has helped more dreams come true of mine than I could have ever imagined! While we were in Oklahoma, we were able to go to two OU football games. We had a blast. Jerrod grew up going to those football games, and well, I grew up only going to Mariners games. I never have enjoyed watching football on T.V., but I did enjoy the high school games. I only was able to see the Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) football team play a couple of times my first year at college, but nothing can compare to a Big 12 football game. Jerrod has talked about OU football games our whole marriage and I just didn't really understand. Now I know!! We went to the OU-Texas Tech game on Saturday Nov. 22, and the OU-OSU game on Nov. 29th. I had an absolute BLAST!!! There I was, in a sea of crimson red cheering on this team...
