Falling in Love Again

Image
Today I fell in love again...with this perfect, tiny, baby inside of me.  I don't even KNOW him yet, but I do know that he is ours and that I love him.   That's right...he is a BOY! Once again I was reminded of how much my Heavenly Father does know  and love me.   I have been having such an emotional past few weeks.  I have been completely overwhelmed by the thought of having 3 children, and more specifically being scared about having another crazy, energetic boy.  I kept thinking and asking,   How on Earth am I going to handle it?  How on Earth am I going to raise righteous children unto the Lord?  How am I not going to go crazy doing it all? I even cried about it on Saturday, and then again on Sunday...and we still have 20 whole weeks to go! (I blame it fully on the pregnancy hormones!)   And, then today, as I laid there and watched the screen as my energetic, beautiful baby boy inside of me was bouncing, kicking and moving a...

Rockstar

Please excuse this "California Love" interruption for something that Kennedi said that I don't want to forget.  I promise the California trip will continue. Over the past two weeks, I have been taking Kennedi to a Family Circuit class at the YMCA.  I love it because it is something that just we do together.  Kennedi and Me.  Jerrod is doing his own work out and Kaden is in the nursery (he is still too young for the class).  Kennedi LOVES this class.  She calls is "Working-cising".  She is actually seems pretty athletic and really enjoys every part about it.   She was busy doing some abs with a pilates ball and turned to me and said,  "MOM, I'M A ROCKSTAR!!"  I couldn't help but just laugh and say, "Yes, you are honey!  You are a Rockstar!"

California Love: Day 2 Wedding Day

Image
On Saturday, May 15th, we attended the MOST beautiful wedding that I have ever been to.  It was a full day of celebration and a night of so much fun. We first started out the day at the Los Angeles Temple.  The weather was amazing.  The Temple was beautiful and I couldn't wait for the Sealing.  I am so thankful that I was able to be in there with Kristin and Brigham and lots of friends.  We all had a hard time keeping control of our tears all in between the funny things that the Sealer would bring in with his sense of humor.  It really made me love and appreciate my Eternal Marriage so much more.  I loved being reminded of those things that we had been promised when Jerrod and I got married.  I held Jerrod's hand a little tighter as I quietly thanked my Heavenly Father for giving me such an amazing, worthy man who was able to take me to the Temple.  It was a wonderful experience. This was a very cool tree that was on the temple gr...

California Love: Day 1

Image
Okay, so my friend Kristin just wrote about how she has been married for 1 month.  What?!  Where in the heck has that month gone?  So, I thought it was about time I blogged about our wonderful trip to California.  I will probably have to do this day by day because we have a whole 9 days to blog about!!! We took a trip to California for Kristin and Brigham's wedding.  Kristin was one of my best friends at college.  She was my first roommate and was also one of my last.  I love her so much and am so thankful that I was able to have her in my life during some of the most important years.  Jerrod and I decided to take this trip alone...meaning NO CHILDREN!!  (Thanks so much Mom!)  We really had such a blast together.  It was so much fun just being together and remembering why we fell in love with each other in the first place.   Sometimes we forget what it is like to be just "Jerrod and Heidi".  Of course, we missed our kids....

Peanut, Peanut Butter

Image
I don't think that I will ever understand the fascination that people have with peanut butter.  The ONLY way that I can really enjoy it is when it is combined with chocolate.  Then, I get it.  But alone?  Or on pancakes?  Or with jelly?  WHAT?!?!  Heidi doesn't like PB & J?  Yes, it's true...I don't like the classic PB & J's.  I think that I had way too many of them growing up and the thought of them just disgust me.   So, of course, I have to have a daughter who is just like her Daddy in this situation.  Kennedi LOVES peanut butter.  Whenever we make her a sandwich, she must have a spoonful of it just to eat.  When she eats pancakes, or waffles, she must have it on them, just like her Daddy.  Some may think it is cute, but if she isn't careful, this is going to be a sad case of being just like her Mommy.  She might just hate it someday...   But for her, at least not today. (Please ignore the fac...

Mother's Day 2010

Image
I had an amazing Mother's Day weekend.  First, on Saturday, I had the privilege of attending a "Birthmother's Day Brunch" at the agency.  It was wonderful to sit amongst my fellow Birthmother sisters as we celebrated our strength and our children.  The first year we had our brunch, we really focused on celebrating our children whom we love so much.  But this year, the focus was on us and our strength of a warrior that we had.  It is amazing the love and connection that I feel to these women in that room.  I didn't really know any of them, but you can sense the deep love and understanding that we have for one another. There are always many tears shed as we heard the many different stories.  As I sat there and listened, I felt incredibly blessed in my life.  I kept thinking, "why does my story seem so much easier?" "Why is there not one ounce of my body that is still struggling with my decision to place?"   Now, when I say "easier" I ...
