The Power of SEEING

Mt. Dew...Oh how I love thee, but you REALLY must go! I have loved you for a very long time. I have loved you since I was younger and started drinking you at the movie theatre. At that age, it was only then when I would be allowed to have you because of course you are chuck full of caffeine, and no child needs more energy! Then, as I grew older, I began to drink you in high school because I was old enough to make my own choices when it came to which soda I would drink. This love continued on through college, and we developed a special relationship when I would make that 1o hour drive to and from college. You helped me stay awake and feel the energy that I needed. Thank you for that. I must admit that over the past year I have cheated on you. I turned to Diet Coke and fell in love with that. I would love to squeeze fresh lime over the top and drink it with such delight. Then, a few weeks ago, I made a very long drive to Tulsa, OK. 8 1/2 hours to be exact. Well, I knew that you would be ...

"And I'm Proud to be an American"

We had a great 4th of July this year. The guys worked until the early afernoon, and then came home so we could have a BBQ. We found a perfect location at a YMCA camp ground. Because it is county property, it is open to the public during closed hours. So, we had our BBQ at a big park right next to a lake/pond. There were lots of big toys for people to play with in the water. Everyone had a great time. We did, however, really miss our new family tradition of watching the fireworks over Lake Union, in Seattle. It is by far the best show that we have ever seen. (#5 in the nation) Jerrod found somebody that posted it on YouTube, so we watched it the next day. Maybe next year! Here are a few pictures from Saturday!

Dear Kaden

My Dear Kaden, Why do you feel it necessary to wake up almost every morning at 7 am? I think that if I put you to bed at 9 pm, you would still wake up at 7. Mommy is tired. Oh, and I like to sleep. When I do get up that early, it is to work out. But, that still isn't convenient for me because I don't want to wake your Daddy up to watch you, while I work out. (You see, your Daddy works very hard in the 100 degree heat all day, everyday. I think he deserves to sleep in a little bit) BUT, for some reason, EVERY time I get up and get you, I can't help but smile as I see you standing, and bouncing in your crib with a huge smile on your face as you see me. I think it is one of those parenting miracles that I can't explain. How can I be mad at you precious little face? I CAN'T. When I see your smile, you brighten my morning, like the sun shining through my window. This phenomenon amazes me. It happened even when you would wake up 2 or 3 times in the night to e...

CRAZY T-I-GG-ER

I do crazy things when Jerrod is gone. And this is one of them. I thought that it would be "fun" to buy this 1000 piece photomosaic puzzle of Tigger. So, I am on day two and I kinda decided that it isn't all that fun, but now I am way too invested in it to quit now. I don't know why I do these things to myself. I am mostly afraid that I won't have it done by the end of the week, and Jerrod is going to want the table back to normal. My brain hurts from trying to figure out where each little piece goes. I have the whole outer edge done, and a few bunches put together. I just feel like there is so much more to do. Who am I kidding?? There is SO MUCH MORE to do! Hopefully I will have the energy when I am done to post about it, with a picture of me with the final product. I think if you click on the picture, it will get bigger so you can see exactly why I am so crazy for doing this.
