Our Kitty

Image
We got a new kitty a couple of weeks ago. Jerrod had been looking online for a long time for a free kitten that we could get Kennedi. She LOVES animals, and she absolutley LOVES this kitty. When we went to pick her out, she was in a litter of 3 other kittens. I was originally draw to a very cute orange kitten. Jerrod was drawn to ours. He really focused on her personality and after a while convinced me that she was the right one. He was definately right. She is the greatest little kitten. She is so much fun and most of all, she lets Kennedi torture and play with her. She is so gentle with her. Sometimes Kennedi can be a bit overbearing with her, but then the kitten will just go hide for a while to get a break. We have found her a few times cuddled up with Kennedi in her crib. They really do love eachother. Every morning, Kennedi wakes up and after she is done yelling "Mom!" for me to come and get her, she says, "Kitty!!" and runs to find her. We origi...

My Belly

Image
I finally had Jerrod take a few quick photos of me yesterday so that I could show off what I call my baby bump. I understand that some of you may not call it that, but I will have you know that this was not there 4 months ago! It finally popped out just enough to show in a picture. So, for those of you who are wondering...this is what we (baby and I) look like at 22 weeks.

3 Years and counting!!

Yesterday, Jerrod and I celebrated our third anniversary. Usually now is where I would tell you all how wonderful and extravagant our day was because Jerrod was in charge. We decided when we got married that we would switch off every year, so this year he was in charge of Valentines day and I was in charge of our anniversary. For those of you who really know my husband, you know that he is AMAZING at planning out special occasions like this. He always suprises me and makes sure that my day is the absolute best. I, on the other hand, struggle with this. I am not very creative when it comes to coming up with ideas, so he will never get what he gives me. I guess that is where I just have to show EVERYDAY how much I love him and appreciate him. Tuesday night, Jerrod had a fever and wasn't feeling well. So, he stayed home from work yesterday. At first I was kind of bummed that he wouldn't get his suprises like I had planned, but it ended up being so wonderful to have him home all da...

Our Next Big News

I realized that I haven't really been posting anything about this pregnancy. I don't know why. Maybe because now that I am a mom Kennedi keeps me so busy that I don't just sit around wishing that the baby was here. So, I will share a bit about this one. This pregnancy has been different than when I was pregnant with Kennedi. The first 12 weeks were pretty similar, so I thought that everything was going to just be the same. I was wrong. I got the usual "all day sickness" feeling and I would always feel like I needed to throw up. Also, my poor husband had to cook for himself the whole first 12 weeks. I couldn't handle smells. They were quite intense this time. I also never felt like eating. Well, I thought that as soon as 12 weeks hit this would all go away. But, it didn't. I still felt nausious a lot and if I didn't have something in my stomach that would usually cause me to dry heave. Not fun. That feeling has actually gone down a lot over the past few...

Kennedi's New Potty

Image
Kennedi is almost 18 months old, so we decided to get her a little potty so that she can start getting familiar with it. We aren't forcing the potty training on her right now, but we thought that it would be a good idea just to start introducing it to her and work into it slowly. The first time she got on it, she didn't really know what to think, but now she will actually sit on it for a while. She hasn't "gone" in there yet, but it is fun to see her sit on it. She loves getting the toilet paper to "wipe" herself. I have to keep that to a minimum though or else I would be all out of toilet paper. I just had the thought at how funny and "cute" potties are at this age. This is the only time in a person's life where it is okay for their parents to show potty pictures. And you know that you all have some of yourselves and your kids! "Daddy, Are you really taking my picture??!!" No...I am NOT also going to the bathroom! I am just sit...

One of my new interests...

Well, I must say, as a mother I really enjoyed Elder M. Russell Ballard's talk at Genereal Conference. And, one of the things that I loved was when he told us how important it is to take some time for ourselves. (what mother wouldn't love someone telling you that???!!!) So, I took his advice very quickly and did something for myself that night! Well, I have actually really been enjoying this new thing for a while now, and it was actually already planned, it just happened to be on the same night as Elder Ballard's talk. What is it you might ask? Is it sewing?? No, I already tried that and I am not so great at it! Is it scrapbooking?? No, I don't necessarily enjoy doing that, but I love my finished products and I am quite overwhelmed at the moment with all that I have to do. Is it reading?? No, I do that in spurts. I am still working on 2 books from months ago! It is cooking and baking! I never really thought that I would enjoy cooking and baking, but lately I have loved ...

My Conference thoughts...

Image
I loved, loved, loved conference this last weekend. To be honest, I have really been struggling with the fact that we weren't going to be able to hear from President Hinckley this time around. I was nervous that I would not have the same feelings for President Monson as I did with President Hinckley. I hate to say that, but I am wanting to be honest. I soon found out how wrong I would be. Saturday morning was a neat experience to be able to stand during the Solemn Assembly and sustain our new prophet. There we were, all by ourselves in our living room, standing to sustain him. But, I knew in my heart that we were not the only ones standing "alone". We were standing with millions of others across the world sustaining our new prophet, Thomas S. Monson. Although it felt a little weird to be stading there in my pajamas, the spirit whispered to me that he in fact was a Propet of God. Being able to witness that was a great experience for me. It has not been often in ...
