Heidi, Heidi, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?

Image
Well, I don't know yet, but we will soon find out! Jerrod has been so busy doing amazing with his second summer job, but he did find some time to weed the back for me. I was so thankful becuase we were really wanting to get a garden planted. On Friday, one of my very good friends helped me out with my garden. Last summer, Jerrod and I made the mistake of planting about 6 tomato plants and they all just engulfed eachother and so they didn't turn out as great as we wanted them. We were also gone most of the summer to take care of them. Well, this summer, I decided that I was going to try it out again. We planted tomatos, yellow crookneck squash, bush beans, cucumbers, cilantro, garlic, and peas. Shelley helped me pick out my plants and then came over and helped me plant everything. It was so much fun to get the garden together. I am so excited to see how it will turn out. Here are a few pictures from our little back yard/patio.

Mother's Day + My Thoughts

First of all, I hope that you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I also want my mom to know how much I love and appreciate her. I know that becoming a mother myself has made me love and appreciate her in more ways than I ever expected. And, I know that that will only continue to grow as I have more children. She really is one of my best friends and I love our relationship. We don't ever want to get anything done because we would rather just sit around in our jammies all day and talk, laugh and eat. It has also been so much fun watching her become a grandma. She is the greatest grandma to Kennedi. I say that because I have the greatest grandmas! Which brings me to my next point... Last summer we had a good friend get married. He stated in his Facebook account that he married the most amazing girl in the whole world. That made ...

Our Little "Missy"

Kennedi just turned 18 months old, so I wanted to share a little bit about her. She is a funny, funny girl, who is becoming more and more independant. It is so crazy how fast this time has flown. I have been SO excited for her to be old enough to go into the Nursery at church. Sending her in there the first day was wonderful and emotional all at the same time. She did GREAT in there. She just walked right in and did her thing like she had been there for years. When I picked her up at the end of church, she was crying because we had to leave! But, she was SO excited to show me her art work. I displayed it proudly on the fridge, and Kennedi often walks by there and says "Mom!!" with a very proud look on her face, like, "look what I did!!" I couldn't help but think of how fast my little "baby" is not a baby anymore...she is growing into this darling little girl. "Where is Kennedi??!!" There she is!! Kennedi is also very smart. She loves looki...
