The Ridge

My mom made the mistake of telling me a few months ago that one of her goals for the Summer was to hike "The Ridge".
For those of you who don't know...The Manastash Ridge is a very difficult hike that people usually conquer for a great work out. It isn't a "nice stroll up a mountain" type hike.

I have hiked The Ridge a number of times in high school and I even give it credit for helping me lose about 10 pounds between my Junior and Senior year of high school.
It is also a very special place for Jerrod and me. He proposed to me at the top 5 years ago. That was a crazy and very memorable experience for us. (Jerrod had never hiked it before and had no idea what he was getting himself into!) But, it was very romantic and wonderful when we reached the top. Definitely worth that long, hard hike!

So, I decided that we would hike The Ridge on Labor Day with some of the family! Mom was excited about it until we got going...

Writing in the famous notebook. It is a Ridge tradition to write in the book when you get to the top. All of the notebooks from the past can be found in the Ellensburg library. I think it would be fun to go back and find some of my old entries.

It was a beautiful day. I know that Mom was proud of herself and I am glad that I was able to be there with her.

It has been a very long time since I have last posted.  Very long.  I have so much catching up to do, but I need to write about a very special little girl and the fact that she is turning TWELVE today.  I first wrote about my story here .  If you have no idea what I am talking about start there.  Read my story.  It was the first time that I really shared my story out in the open for the whole world to read about.  Five years later, so many things have changed.  I have changed.  We have added 2 more beautiful boys to our family.  We are blessed beyond what we could have imagined.  Today, I will be thinking about Alex all day and I will play the events over and over in my head for the next few days. Kaden Wyatt Brower

He is finally here!! Kaden Wyatt Brower was born September 4th, 2008 at 2:21 am. He weighed 8 lbs. 10 oz. and was 21 in long. Everything went very well. He is amazing and Kennedi is a very proud older sister!! I will write more later. We just wanted to get these up for friends and family! Enjoy!
