Big Girl Bed
We finally got Kennedi's "big girl bed." We figured that it was time to transition her so that she wouldn't be too upset when her new little brother takes over the crib. We tried to make it a big deal so that she would be excited about it.
This is Kennedi and Daddy putting the bed together. Kennedi LOVED helping out. She would grab screws and try to fit them into whatever hole she could find.
It's all done!!! Kennedi sitting on her bed for the first time. She was so excited when we were done that she could hardly sit still while I was putting her jammies on. We thought..."Hey, this is going to be GREAT!! She is going to do so well on her first night!!"
As you can see, it didn't go as well as we hoped it would.
And, so this is where she ended up. In our bed. That smile says a thousand words, some of which are, "haha, I got my way. I am in bed with Mom and Dad!"
So far, she has done okay with the whole change. We still have to stay right by her until she falls asleep and her naps have gotten much shorter. :( She also gets up at least once a night and comes into our room. Hopefully this will all change when Jerrod is done with APX for the summer. Kennedi really loves to be with her daddy when he is home, and wants to be right there in bed with him. It is cute, but annoying all at the same time.
I find her many times throughout the day playing on her bed with her stuffed animals or reading books. It is so fun to watch her enjoy being in her own room.
It is crazy to think that my little baby is now in her own big girl bed. Time flies so fast. She is growing into a little girl right before my eyes.
