I Want a Fishin' Pole

Towards the beginning of the Summer, Kennedi saw a fishing pole in Wal-Mart and decided that she wanted to go fishing. I don't know where she has ever seen somebody fishing, but she decided that she wanted to do it. She talked about it a lot at first, but then stopped for a while. Then at the very end of the Summer, she all of a sudden brought it up again. She would constantly talk about how she wanted a "fishin' pole" and that it had to be a princess one. We kept telling her that she could get one for her birthday. (in November!) She kept saying that she wanted one for her birthday, but didn't realize that her birthday wasn't for another 3 months!
Jerrod has an AMAZING aunt and uncle who love us and our children dearly. We are very close to them and love and appreciate them so much. Jerrod told Aunt Gina about Kennedi talking about her fishing pole. Well, Gina called us right before we were getting to Tulsa and asked if she could buy one for her as an early birthday gift.

So, when we got to Aunt Gina's she gave Kennedi her gift. She opened it and didn't really know what it was at first and then she realized what it was and said, "It's a princess fishin' pole!" She was so excited. Right away, she wanted to play with it, so Uncle Tim taught her how to "cast" and "reel" in the line. He was so great with her. Of course, after dinner, we had to go fishing at the pond near their home. We didn't put a hook or bait on Kennedi's line for safety reasons, but the guys fished right there next to her as she cast her line into the pond over and over again.

Treyce (Jerrod's cousin) actually caught a fish and Kennedi's face was priceless as he reeled in that fish. She then got angry that she wasn't catching any! It was so funny. We had so much fun with them that night. We are so blessed to have them in our lives. Thank you Gina and Tim, and your sweet family, for being so great. We love you!
They also bought Kaden a birthday present.

How cute!! We got Jenna that same fishing pole this summer too. We tried putting a hook on it, but she got nervous when she actually caught a fish! So she is just as happy with casting and reeling in the crown :) We'll have to get them together for a fishing party sometime!
