VIP

At Kennedi's preschool, they don't celebrate birthdays because they don't want the Summer birthdays to feel left out, instead they get to have a "VIP Day".  It is so fun.  Kennedi brought five things as a "show and tell" to tell her class a little bit more about herself and then the kids asked her questions.  She also got a crown and a balloon and marched the class around the room while her teacher played the song, "I'm a VIP".  She got to bring a sweet snack.  She chose powdered doughnut holes.  It got all over the kids' lips and they laughed and laughed.  Here are the photos from that day.... I love this photo of us.  My baby girl is growing up so fast!

28

I recently celebrated my 28th birthday.  28.  It is an alright number.  I am not too overly excited about being 28.  I thought that 27 sounded more fun.  But 28?  I mean, I might as well be 29.  Blah.  I am actually excited to be 30 in two years.  Thirty, flirty (with my husband) and thriving.  ( Can you tell one of my favorite movies is "13 Going on 30" ?)   But, since I can't skip ahead two more years, I guess that I will make the BEST of being 28.  I do have a whole year for 28 to grow on me.   Because my birthday was on Sunday, we got to celebrate on Saturday and then some girlfriends helped to celebrate again during the week! Jerrod and the kids decorated for me.  They did such a good job.     I got a really cute scarf and gloves. Then, Jerrod got me some cute black flats. After I opened these two presents, we went to Red Robin for lunch and then went to the mall to do a little bit of shopping. ...

In Training

One night I found Kaden in the kitchen like this.  Apparently, he decided that our garbage needed emptied.  Kaden is my little helper. He always wants to help when I sweep, mop, or take out the garbage.  This time, he took the initiative himself and tried to take out the garbage by himself.  So, I looked at it as an opportunity to train.  Never too early to teach your kids to clean, right?!?! I did help him a little, but he mostly did everything by himself. Most importantly, I trained him to REPLACE the garbage bag.  (His Dad kind of forgets to do this. :)  )     He did take the garbage out to the garage himself, and climbed up on that tote to put it in.  He was so proud.  He did need help closing the lid.  It was so cute.  I loved watching him.  I am so glad that I was able to grab my camera.  Now, when he is older and complains about taking out the garbage, I will remind him that he begged to do i...

Our Little Buddy

I haven't written much about Kohen since his birth so I thought I would take a few minutes to write about him.  He is now 2 months old...10 weeks tomorrow.  He has really brought so much joy into our family.   He has also taught me to not compare my children.  Kennedi and Kaden were so mellow.  They had a routine and were very good about sticking to it.  Kohen on the other hand has been a bit more challenging.  Overall, he is a good baby, but he is kind of temper-mental.  It has been hard to try and figure him out.  Poor baby has gone through so much from all of my pain meds that I took when I was pregnant with him, and then going from all breast-milk to all formula, then back to mostly breast-milk with some formula.  His poor little tummy has had a hard time adjusting to all of the changes.  He gets gas quite easily and lets us know that he is in pain.  When he was mostly on formula while I was trying to get my milk back,...
