Out With the Old, and In With the New!!

Image
This past month we have been going crazy doing projects in our home. We decided that we probably won't be selling or renting out our house anytime soon, so we decided to put a little bit of money into it to make it our own and make it something that we really loved to be in. I must admit. I was very apprehensive to all of these projects because I am just a chicken. I was afraid that I wouldn't like the outcome after all of the work that was put in. Now, I don't know why I thought that way, becuase after all is said and done, I love it and I don't know why it took us so long to actually do something! I have learned that it is amazing what a little paint will do for a home. It has warmed it up so much. I really love it. Jerrod has really impressed me with this whole thing. He has worked so hard and has learned so many new things. He tiled both bathrooms all by himself. He has never tiled before, but he just went into Home Depot, asked someone what he needed and how to ...

Tanganyika

Image
On our drive home, we stopped in Wichita, KS to stay with Jerrod's sister, Jaela and her boyfriend, Curtis for a night. Jaela made an awesome dinner called Chicken Pillows (which is now on my favorite list), and we just visited and enjoyed ourselves. The next morning, we took the kids to a wildlife zoo called Tanganyika . It was a very cool, small zoo that had different animals. It was very customer friendly and they had different times where you could get up close and personal with the animals. We really wanted to be able to feed the giraffes, but because of heavy rain the night before, they didn't want them into the mud puddles. I was so dissapointed, but we were able to really enjoy some other animals. Of course, we always enjoy the goats. Kennedi loves feeding them. I just think they are such a fun animal for kids. They all wanted to be right next to Kaden because they thought he had food. We also got to feed rabbits. Kennedi also loved them and Kaden got excited to see th...

Look What I Found

Image
I am so grossed out right now. Look what I found on our patio. I HATE snakes. Okay, I know some of you are saying, "What the heck do you mean, Heidi? You guys have a pet snake! How could you hate them??" Well, I DO. The only reason why I tolerate Neo (our snake) is because he is #1 caged, #2 he is as big as he is going to get, which isn't very big, and #3 as ridiculous as it may seem, he has a very calm personality when he's not ready to eat. Jerrod had him before we started dating and at first I couldn't even step foot into his apartment knowing that another one of his roommates had a cage full of them. If we had to go over there, they had to cover the cage with a blanket so that I couldn't see them. It gave me major anxiety. When Jerrod and I got more serious, I started to get used to Neo and I didn't feel that I could throw Jerrod an ultimatum of me or the snake. So, there you go. Neo is now a part of our family. But, I don't ever wa...

Don't Judge an Orange By It's Peel

Image
Sometimes, only sometimes , I wish that I were a celebrity and every time that I "endorsed" a product that they would send me a bunch of it for free . I would love a bunch of this for free. Tropicana Pure Valencia orange juice. I love this stuff. My love for Valencia's started way back when I was at the grocery store with my mom and she was wanting to get some oranges. They had some Valencia Oranges that looked horrible. When my mom seemed excited about purchasing some, I looked at her like she was crazy. She then informed me that though Valencia's may not look very pretty on the outside, they are so juicy and sweet on the inside! So, I thought that I would give them a try. From then on, they have been my favorite kind of orange. The other day, Jerrod and I went grocery shopping and he grabbed the Tropicana Pure Valencia orange juice. I was very excited to take it home and try it. That first drink was just as sweet as biting into a real Valencia orange. ...

Family and Fall...These are a Few of my Favorite Things!

Image
I LOVE THE FALL !! I love everything about it, but mostly I love taking photos in the fall. Sunday afternoon we took the kids to a park and attempted taking our own family photos. We relyed on our tripod and luck to bring forth good family photos. Since there was no one on the other side of the camera to get our kids' attention, it took a long time, but we did our best and we were able to get a few good ones of all of us. That was my main goal coming into this. We were also able to get some of just the kids. The one of Kennedi and Kaden on the bridge is my absolute favorite . I just love it. I look at my kids in amazement that they are ours. I am so blessed to have them in my life. I am humbled that the Lord trusted Jerrod and I to take care of His precious spirits. I always dreamed of having my home filled with family photos, and now it is. Our family is not complete yet, so our photos in our home will multiply as the years go on. For this reason, my home may not...
